A new friend

Granny Karen and  Grandma Debbie are Xavi and Ben's grandmothers. When Granny Karen heard about Izzy dolls she thought it was such a good idea she gave Granny Debbie lots of lovely wool so there could be some Izzys made in Jersey

Rosamund and Tilda meeting Lily Xavier their new Jersey  friend.

Xavi and Ben named her Lily after their cat and Xavier so every one would know she was made at Xavi's house. Grandma told them there was also a famous lady called Jersey Lily which Xavi thought was funny.

The first journey

Rosamund and Tilda were very excited when they heard Grandma Debbie and Gwen talking about taking Izzy dolls to Europe.

Rosamund wanted to make sure she was prepared for such an adventure. Se got out into the garden so she could see what it was like to be outside.
She and Tilda also wanted to make sure they knew what French words looked like so they got up by the picture Grandma Debbie made for her kitchen.

After that they decided to make sure it was them that would go. So when they found a basket Grandma Debbie was making and they tried it out for size. But Grandma Debbie said it might be too bulky.
They saw the flight bag and jumped in quickly to make sure they didn't  get left at home.

At last it was the travel day and when Grandma Debbie got them out of the flight bag they discovered they were already on the plane.
It was very exciting when they found out the seat next to Grandma Debbie was empty and they had a lovely blanket and a pillow to sit on.

What a great start to the adventure.

Pictures of Izzies

Izzies beginnings

Izzy's know from the start, right when that first stitch is made, that the have a destiny. The are stitched with love and destined to travel far and wide to bring comfort  and joy to a child. A child who has experienced pain, loss or trauma. Sometimes, they even bring comfort to an adult.

Therefore Izzys know they must be brave and courageous. They must be prepared. They must be willing to be carried in pockets, dropped on the ground, to even have their faces and clothes muddied. They accept this with willing hearts in the hope of  helping a child or adult.

Izzys are sociable, they form groups of Izzy friends and feel like family. They never travel alone, usuall being sent on their mission in larger groups.

However, some Izzys get the chance to travel before their mission, to go on an adventure of a different sort.

The beginning

Grandma Debbie had not been well. She had a really bad migraine every day. One day her friend Gwen told her about Izzy dolls and how they  were made and sent to children and sometimes adults who lived in war torn areas, or were in hospital, orphanages or other place that looked after them. The Izzy dolls helped by giving comfort and they loved hugs..

Grandma Debbie decided that if she had a little while each day when she felt a bit better she would help create Izzy dolls. She took a picture of every Izzy before they went off to their new homes.

These are the stories of some Izzies.
